There are a lot of exciting things going on with my running right now. I am coaching a marathon training group for AustinFit to prepare for the Austin marathon in February. Starting back up again in January I will be coaching 5 different running groups through Runtex Foundation. One of the groups that I am really excited about continuing to coach is a group of guys and staff from the Salvation Army. We just ran the Trail of Lights 5k and are now going to train for the Cap10k.It was fantastic to see the guys so excited about completing a 5k.

Another project I am just getting off the ground is to form a local running team in Austin for Team World Vision. I ran for Team World Vision in Chicago and was so psyched by what they did I wanted to get them involved some way here in Austin. I have been in contact with their director in Chicago and am working the plan on putting together a team here in Austin. Pray for this project.

On Sunday the 21st I will be preaching at FBC Huntsville, Tx. This is an opportunity to speak on the importance of being spiritually and physically fit. I’ll let everyone know how it goes.

Training: Very cold out today. Did a 5 miler @ 9min. mile pace. Still a little sore form last Saturdays Morning 15.5 training run.

Sermon idea for next Sunday:
” Ones spiritual training requires the exact 3 components of any training program : Frequency, Intensity, and Duration.”

“Promoting Faith and Fitness as a Means to Healthy Productive Living.”

Fit2Endure as a non-profit ministry offers the following ways to promote healthy, vital living:

  • Monthly newsletters that focus on Great Commandment living as it relates to overall fitness.
  • Drawing awareness to the mandate of charitable giving by strategically aligning ourselves with organizations that address pressing health and wellness.
  • Maintaining a Christian faith-based presence at local/national running events. We do this by maintaining a Fit2Endure promotional booth at various marathon/fitness expos as well as offering pre-race prayer/inspirational services.
  • Conducting charity runs as a means to carrying out the Great Commandment in a concrete way.
  • Conducting weekend seminars for churches, businesses and civic groups on healthy living in heart, soul, mind, and strength.

What Others Say:

“I had the privilege of meeting Alan when he invited me to speak at the Austin Runner’s Club last year. I was awestruck by his spirit and determination. With every footstep Alan takes he will inspire our youth to do the same. It’s not about the finish line. It’s all about the journey. I salute Alan’s efforts.”

“I don’t know, Jesus? Buddah? Some other-worldly being. I couldn’t do it. No way. That’s a different breed there.”
